1、人食用土元的特性及食料。土元生长在土里，喜欢阴暗潮湿，昼伏夜出觅食，它耐饥性强，半个月不食东西而体质不受任何影响，属冬眠性昆虫。它采食广泛，各种菜叶、水果皮、植物叶、粮油下脚料等都是它的好食料。饲料须用水拌湿拌匀，每天喂食一次，喂量以第二天表面不剩食为宜。每百公斤土元日食量为5公斤左右。
